RoB 1: Thanksgiving - Sept 30

Coed 4’s tournament – WITH A TWIST
Register here: ROB 1 Tournament

This tournament is in the style of “King/Queen of the Beach”
You register as a coed pair, and you play in a pool with other coed pairs 4-on-4.
Each match is a game to 21, and after each match you swap pair-partners.
Every pair plays with every other pair in the pool.
We note down how many points the winners won by, and then after the round robin is done we find our winners!

Eg: Match 1: Pairs A&B play pairs C&D:
Pairs A&B win by 3 points – they get 3 points
Match 2: Pars B&C play pairs A&D
Pair A&D win by 7 – they get 7 points added to their total
Only positive scores count
A now has (7+3)=10
B now has (3+0)=3
C now has (0+0)=0
D now has (0+7)=7

Match 3 follows the same pattern and then we add them all up to find the winner

First round is for seeding. After that the top pair moves up a tier and the bottom moves down. You get to play alongside other people, meet new friends, and have a fun holiday tournament!

Opening round robin starts at 9 AM. Tournament comprises 4 full rounds!

Rec/Int 4's: Halloween - Oct 28

Halloween 4’s tournament for Rec & Intermediate teams! Come dressed in your best costume, The tournament will end with enough time to go out an trick our treat at night!

10 spots for Rec teams & 10 spots for Intermediate teams. Make sure to register early! Prizes for best team costume and best individual costume, plus for the division champs. Registration is OPEN

Doors at 9 AM and Games start at 9:30

Coed, and teams must have at least 2 genders on the court at all time

RoB 2: Winter is Coming - Nov 4

Coed 4’s tournament – WITH A TWIST

This tournament is in the style of “King/Queen of the Beach”
You register a team as a coed pair, and you play in a pool with other pairs as 4-on-4.

Youth Fall U16 Tournament - Nov 19

In between Youth Beach Sessions we offer a U16 Women’s beach tournament. Our Fall Tournament is on Sunday, November 19th
With room for only 8 teams, we really want the athletes to come out, work hard, and have fun. All teams are guaranteed 5 games with prizes for the champions and the tournament MVP.

After the morning round robin we have four incredible athletes put on a short demo game so the tournament athletes can see some high level women’s beach volleyball action!

Find a partner and get yourselves registered! The focus is on being active, having fun and playing beach volleyball as we prepare for the summer outdoor season!

Coed Holiday 3's - Dec 29

Registration is OPEN

Join us in the middle of the Holiday season to brush off some of the rust from the league break!
Work off some of the turkey and maybe even some of the egg nog!

Seasonal drink specials will be served at George’s Beach Club.

All teams must have 2 genders represented.

Max 20 teams.
Doors at 9, games start at 9:30 AM

Beach Ultimate - February 10

Our third annual speed beach ultimate tournament is on Saturday, February 10^th.
Doors are open at 9:45 AM and games start at 10:30 AM. Total number of games will depend on the number of teams that sign up.
Tournament will end around 4/4:30 PM.

Games are short so that everyone runs hard and has some rest between games!
Round Robin games are 18 minutes, playoff games are 20 minutes. All games are coed.
Suggested team size is 8 players, max is 10. $150/team & max of 15 teams.

Youth Winter U16 Tournament - Mar 3

This is the final Youth event of the season. Our Spring Tournament is on Sunday, May 5th.

At the conclusion of ROB 5 we will crown our 2023-24 King and Queen of the Beach!

You register a team as a coed pair, and you play in a pool with other pairs as 4-on-4.

Rec 4's: Welcome to Summer - Jun 1

Registration is OPEN

A full day tournament for our Rec 4’s teams! Come out and play around as the weather starts to improve! But it hasn’t gotten there quite yet.
This is a fun focused day of beach volleyball, friends and music. Drink specials for the day, and all games will follow our Rec rules.

All teams must have at least 2 genders represented on the beach. Max 20 teams.
Doors at 9, games start at 9:30 AM.

Calgary's Signature Pro Beach Volleyball Event

Calgary’s signature beach volleyball tournament is returning to the CBVA courts for it’s 2nd edition. The Calgary Open is organized in partnership by some of the city’s most trusted beach volleyball communities: CBVA, The Beach YYC and the NBVL.

This year’s event will start with an adult qualifier event on Friday, July 7th, followed on July 8th and 9th by Main Draw events for youth and adult divisions. All divisions will play in men’s or women’s doubles format.

The highlight of the Calgary Open will be the Men’s and Women’s Pro adult Main Draw which will be played alongside all other divisions throughout the weekend. Alberta’s top beach volleyball athletes and competitive teams from across the country will compete in a 24 team tournament for a total prize purse of $15,000 across both genders.

All this, plus the event is being held during the biggest party of the year in Calgary. There’s really no reason not to come out to the CBVA Courts from July 7th to 9th.
